Currently watch It’s Me or The Dog - 15 Strangest Cases.

They had one guy that fed his bull dog a dozen eggs with 1/2 stick of butter, cheese, ham, and yogurt plus kibble EVERY DAY.  That is a lot of rich food that a dog doesn’t need.  Another case had a family feeding the animals (cats and dogs) from the dinner table off of their plates.  The animals even had their own fork.  That is something to be thankful for, I guess.  I have seen some of the things Liberty has eaten and as much as I love her - there will be no fork sharing.

I met a friend at the dog park the other night and I got to meet his dog for the first time.  I knew it was a Golden Retriever, but it is definitely a mix of something smaller.  Honestly, I think it is the love child of a   Golden and a Pomeranian.  I can just envision their forbidden love story.  Homeboy has some issues.  In fact, I would not advise that he take that dog back to that type environment because the dog would just freak out and attack the other dogs.  Including a very young puppy.  Not okay in my book.  Unfortunately, I am not sure how to fix it - I just think he should avoid it.  Plus, it isn’t exactly my place to say anything.

While I was waiting for him to arrive, a guy came in with two hounds.  Pretty dogs, but they were bullies.  They chased and harassed the other dogs and I did not find the behavior acceptable, but I try to mind my own business.  For the most part they ignored Liberty and I because we stayed in a more open area playing ball.  At one point they came after Libby - but her mellow nature kept the situation neutral.  But the funny thing I noticed was that when they would howl, their butts poofed out.  Strange, I know.  But it kept catching my attention.  And it was all I could think about - the prostate exam.  I guess that is why they say “cough”.  Hilarious.

There was a male yellow lab that was obviously still young - I fell head over heels for him.  So mellow and fun.  He just wanted to play and hang out.  Very lovey - very open to playing with all of the other dogs.  He would go over to the pool area and he climbed in and laid down so that the water was all the way up to his head.  Way cute.

Life seems so much simpler when spending time at the dog park observing the world.  It is also clear that there are crazies everywhere and they come in all shapes and sizes.

Father’s Day

Posted by: Gina   in Family Matters

I hate shopping for Father’s Day cards.  I am at a point where I am trying to make nice with my father, but our interaction is limited and superficial.

They need to make a card that nicely says, hi, I am your kid - congrats on spawning me because I am AWESOME.  Oh, and have a great day while you celebrate having ME.

All of these cards that try to celebrate how WONDERFUL the parent is - they just don’t fit.  I won’t go so far as to be insulting, but I am also not going to be all kissy-face nice.
